Heat Pump Rebates & Incentives in San Jose & Silicon Valley

    Local community energy providers currently offer rebates for qualifying heat pump HVAC and heat pump water heater projects that replace gas equipment. The program information below was reviewed in September 2026.

    Current Local Programs

    San José Clean Energy EcoHome

    The EcoHome program is active for qualifying home electrification upgrades. Current published equipment-specification rebates for gas replacement:

    Heat Pump HVAC (gas replacement)$2,500
    Heat Pump HVAC — Environmental Justice Community qualified$3,500
    Heat Pump Water Heater (gas replacement)$2,000
    Heat Pump Water Heater — Environmental Justice Community qualified$3,000

    Eligibility and application approval are controlled by San José Clean Energy, and qualifying installation, equipment and program requirements apply.

    Silicon Valley Clean Energy Home Rebates

    Current base rebates for gas-replacement projects:

    Heat Pump HVAC (gas replacement)$2,000

    Heat Pump Water Heater — income-qualified$3,500

    SVCE’s program page lists an extra limited-time $500 heat pump water heater incentive on top of the base rebate for qualifying projects between September 1, 2026 and October 31, 2026. This adder is scheduled to end after October 31, 2026 — confirm on the SVCE page that it is still available before relying on it. Funding, eligibility and program rules apply, and homeowners should reserve or apply as required by SVCE before installation.

    City-specific add-ons may also vary for communities such as Los Altos, Milpitas, Mountain View and Sunnyvale — check the SVCE page for your city.
