AC Maintenance & Capacitor Replacement in Sunnyvale, CA 94087

    Sunnyvale

    Project Overview

Air Care Heating & Cooling completed scheduled AC maintenance for a Gold Club member in Sunnyvale, CA 94087. As part of the Gold Club maintenance visit, Brian cleaned and inspected the system to help identify potential problems before they could lead to an unexpected loss of cooling. During the maintenance inspection, Brian found that the system’s dual capacitor was testing outside of the manufacturer’s factory specification. The capacitor was replaced during the visit rather than leaving a known out-of-spec component in service, helping reduce the chance of the air conditioning system experiencing a capacitor-related failure during hot summer weather.

Air Care provides AC maintenance in Sunnyvale, CA and throughout the Bay Area.

    Customer Challenge

As a Gold Club member, the homeowner received scheduled preventive AC maintenance designed to keep the system clean, verify operation, and identify components that may need attention before they create a larger service problem.

    Our Recommendation

Gold Club maintenance gives Air Care an opportunity to inspect and clean the air conditioning system on a scheduled basis and identify developing equipment issues so they can be addressed during the visit. During this visit, that inspection identified a dual capacitor that was already outside of factory specification.

    Our Solution

During the Gold Club maintenance visit, Brian cleaned and inspected the air conditioning system. The dual capacitor was found to be outside of the manufacturer’s factory specification. Because the component was already out of spec, the capacitor was replaced during the same visit rather than leaving a known weakened component in service.

    Outcome

The air conditioning system was cleaned and maintained, and the out-of-spec dual capacitor was identified and replaced during the same visit. The maintenance visit allowed the homeowner to address a developing equipment issue before the capacitor had the opportunity to potentially contribute to a loss of cooling during summer conditions.

Air Care also handles air conditioning service when a component is found out of specification during a maintenance visit.

Why the out-of-spec capacitor was replaced during maintenance

During the maintenance inspection, the dual capacitor was tested and found outside of the manufacturer’s factory specification. Because the component was already out of spec, it was replaced during the same visit rather than leaving a known weakened component in service ahead of the summer cooling season.

Air Care Heating & Cooling completed a routine preventive maintenance visit for a Silver Club member in Sunnyvale, CA 94086. The single-family home has a Trane furnace and air conditioning system, and the homeowner had no indication that anything was wrong because the system was still operating. During the maintenance inspection, technician Fernando found a burned high-voltage wire leading to the dual capacitor. Fernando cut the wire back to a section showing no additional visible damage, ohmed out the wire and found no resistance, and replaced the connector. The wiring issue was addressed while it was still a minor repair rather than being left to potentially develop into a larger equipment problem.
