    Customer Challenge

The high-rise senior living facility was served by multiple aging hydronic fan coil units, each tied into the building’s existing hydronic system. Because the building remained fully occupied, every replacement had to be coordinated carefully with building staff to limit downtime and keep the work areas clean and safe for residents.

    Our Recommendation

We recommended replacing the indoor fan coil units along with the associated condensate drain lines and water shutoff valves at each air handler, so each system would be fully updated and easier to isolate and service in the future.

    Our Solution

Our installation team, Juan and Luis, removed the existing indoor fan coil units and installed new hydronic fan coils. As part of each replacement, we installed new condensate drain lines and replaced the water shutoff valves serving each air handler, then connected the new equipment to the building’s existing hydronic system. Work was scheduled and staged to minimize disruption while maintaining a clean, professional environment for residents and building staff.

    Outcome

The Campbell senior living facility now has updated hydronic fan coil equipment serving multiple areas of the high-rise building. Replacing the aging indoor units along with the associated drain lines and water shutoff valves provided a more complete HVAC upgrade while improving the serviceability of each system for future maintenance and repairs.

Why drain lines and shutoff valves were replaced too

Each fan coil replacement in this high-rise included new condensate drain lines and new water shutoff valves at the air handler. Updating those components along with the equipment means each system is fully updated and easier to isolate and service in the future — an important consideration in an occupied senior living building where work is coordinated with building staff.

    Energy & Efficiency Notes

Aging indoor fan coil units were replaced with new equipment tied into the existing hydronic system. Energy savings were not quantified for this project.

Actual energy use depends on the equipment, installation, ductwork, usage, and utility rates. We review expected performance for your specific system rather than quoting a fixed savings number.
