    Customer Challenge

The homeowner contacted several HVAC contractors looking for someone to replace their existing hydronic air handler. Because of the specialized nature of the system and the installation, the other contractors they reached out to were unwilling to take on the project.

    Our Recommendation

Our team was comfortable handling the specialized hydronic HVAC work and recommended a direct replacement of the existing hydronic air handler, including all required hydronic and HVAC connections.

    Our Solution

Mark and Tom removed the existing air handler and professionally installed the new hydronic air handler, making sure the system was properly connected and operating as intended before completing the project.

    Outcome

The homeowner was able to get the specialized HVAC replacement they had been struggling to find a contractor to perform. The new hydronic air handler was successfully installed and operating properly, and the client was very happy with the completed project.

The aging hydronic air handler was replaced with new equipment matched to the existing hydronic system. Energy savings were not measured for this project.

Actual energy use depends on the equipment, installation, ductwork, usage, and utility rates. We review expected performance for your specific system rather than quoting a fixed savings number.

Air Care Heating & Cooling completed a heat pump replacement for an existing Gold Club member in Santa Clara, CA 95054. During peak daytime heat, the home’s air conditioning system had begun tripping the circuit breaker. Air Care sent a technician to diagnose the problem and found that the AC compressor was failing. With the home’s furnace and air conditioner both approximately 24 years old, the homeowner decided to replace the existing system with a high-efficiency Bryant heat pump and air handler while taking advantage of available heat-pump rebates. The project also included an Air Scrubber indoor air quality system. Because the single-family home is part of an HOA, Air Care helped the homeowner with the HOA documentation and City of Santa Clara permit process for the project.
