The home has a Daikin multi-zone mini-split heat pump system with one outdoor heat pump serving four high-wall indoor units. Air Care was called because the system was not working properly. Technician Steve diagnosed the issue and found that the condensate pump serving one of the high-wall units had failed. The pump's safety circuit prevented that indoor unit from operating to help prevent condensate water from leaking. Steve replaced the failed condensate pump and restored the indoor unit to operation.

    The Santa Clara townhome uses a Daikin multi-zone ductless heat pump system with one outdoor unit serving four high-wall indoor units. One of the indoor units would not operate. Because several components can prevent a ductless indoor unit from turning on, the cause needed to be diagnosed rather than assumed.

    Diagnosis

    After identifying the failed condensate pump, Air Care recommended replacing the failed pump so the affected high-wall indoor unit could return to normal operation while retaining the condensate safety function.

    Repair Performed

    Steve replaced the failed condensate pump serving the affected Daikin high-wall indoor unit. After the pump was replaced, the indoor unit was able to operate again.

    Outcome

    The failed condensate pump was replaced and the affected Daikin high-wall indoor unit was restored to operation.
