The home relied on an older gas furnace paired with aging ductwork. Connecting new equipment to that existing duct system would have limited performance and left the weakest part of the system in place.
Rather than connecting the new equipment to an aging duct system, we recommended replacing the ductwork at the same time as the equipment so the new heat pump could perform as designed.
Adolph and Luis removed the existing gas furnace along with the old ductwork, converted the home to an all-electric heat pump system, and installed all-new ductwork throughout the house before completing startup and operational testing.
The homeowner now has a complete, all-electric HVAC system providing both heating and cooling. By replacing the ductwork at the same time as the equipment, the home received a comprehensive HVAC upgrade rather than simply connecting new equipment to an older air distribution system.
Connecting the new heat pump to the home’s aging duct system would have limited its performance and left the weakest part of the system in place. Replacing the ductwork at the same time as the equipment allowed the new heat pump to perform as designed, completing the conversion from gas heating to an all-electric system.

The townhome is approximately 22 years old, and the existing AC was original to the home. The homeowner also had existing window issues and understood that those issues could continue to contribute to the home not cooling as well as desired, even after the HVAC system was replaced.
